You’re Unique; Your Skincare Routine Should Be Too

[Laurie’s Letter appeared yesterday.]

Neutrogena SunblockHi Laurie,

I really like your approach and mindset toward skin aging.

I’ve written a few times about The Perils and Pointlessness of Doing Too Much Too Soon, as far as anti-aging skin care goes. You should always aim to prevent damage using broad spectrum sun protection.

Start adding moisturizer to your routine when your skin feels dry. Be sure to get lots of antioxidants – both in your moisturizer and in your diet.

When you start to notice fine lines, you want to be sure your moisturizer has cell-communicating ingredients to help your skin behave as it did in younger days.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream has the cell-communicating ingredients Niacinamide, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 (Matrixyl), and Carnosine. Plus it’s packed with free radical fighting antioxidants.

Is there something about Neutrogena Ultrasheer Dry Touch SPF 55 you don’t like? In my opinion it’s the very best bargain-priced broad spectrum sunscreen on the market. A 3-oz. tube should last about six weeks when applied daily to all areas which will be exposed to the sun, i.e. not just your face.

From my A.M. list, it appears that you’ve selected the cleanser, toner and Micro-Sculpting Cream, but are looking to both save money and not overload your skin with unnecessary products. My advice:

• Add a broad spectrum sunscreen of your choice;

• The toner is optional – only use toner if it makes your skin feel cleaner or if you have oily skin or enlarged pores;

• The Micro-Sculpting Cream should be sufficient for now;

• If your skin is so dry that makeup doesn't glide on even after moisturizing, add the Daily Regenerating Serum;

• The same for the eye area and the Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum – it’s a richer serum for the delicate skin around the eyes; and

• The Total Effects Anti-Aging Booster Eye Cream and Concealer is also totally optional – only use it if your eyes need an extra boost and concealer for dark circles.

You only asked about the A.M. routine. Did you notice there is also a P.M. Skincare Routine for the Budget Conscious?

I’m glad you’re enjoying Ageless Beauty. Please come again.

Regards,
Jean
