French of the Day and swap parcel!

Look at these lovely polishes I got in a swap parcel from a lovely American lady today!! Oh, possibly the best range of colours I've seen a while! And look at the layering of the week - it's my new Claires "Magic" with a coat of Urban Decay "ID". Divine! :)

Those are I have no idea why I pulled out this gimmicky strawberry-scented French manicure set from Elegant Touch yesterday but I did :) As usual I couldn't be bothered with the tip guides that came with the set, I really have to start using them when I do French manicures on myself - this is a right botched job. Never mind. The packaging says it is strawberry fragranced and it to does smell weirdly of fake fruit; more like those scratch n' sniff stickers you got in the 80's than strawberries however. This farse will come off tomorrow and I'll slick on the astounding Sinful Color "Mint Apple" instead to accentuate my new NW3 by Hobbs leather cuff on Monday :)

NOTD: OPI "Princesses rule!"

This polish should seriously offend Zeke the evil beech, hehe :) This super-prismatic sheer pink from the Princess Charming collection is my new love! I picked this up in my local Sally's, where there was no OPI Holiday Wishes in sight apart from the offensive "Ginger Bells". Browsing the mainly browns and French polishes OPI display my eye fell on "Bright Lights - Big Color". Mega-lemming, hello VAT free purchase! I snapped up the last bottle. Then... Hello. You look sparkly. I picked up the bottle, tilted it to check opacity. It looked very sheer. But soooo sparkly and icy pink... I hesitated, then decided to take it anyway, and layer it over pale pink creme Rimmel LycraPRO "Urban Princess".

And the more swatches I looked at online the more I was convinced I'd made the right choice :D This is 1 coat of "Urban Princess" and two coats of "Princesses rule!" with MegaShine top coat. Wow! I love how sparkly it is, and how the tone of the pink suits my skintone just fine, something tricky.

I am wearing this with a cutesy retro shirt and super-sparkly Rimmel lipgloss tomorrow, see second pic. Goodness me, I love those false nails :) It's gonna be a good Friday, then more DIY on Saturday - flooring the bathroom... Ugh...

Duo-Tone French Manicure

As there was nothing on tv on Sunday night worth watching I decided to make myself a duo-tone French manicure. I used my fave pink at the moment Rimmel 60sec "Funtime Fuschia" and painted the tips in a bright bubblegum pink from Bourjois. It turned out pretty cool, looks like boiled sweets :)
