Corner View - Shopping

One of the things I love about shopping in Australia is the FRUIT.

Tropical.

Exotic.

So much GREAT fruit !!

I have always been a fruit lover so this is a perfect place for me to live.
Just look at the photo above.
Strawberries.
Mango.
Blueberries.
Kiwi Fruit.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm.



Stone Fruit ... plums and peaches.
Bananas and limes too ...

Pomegranate !
Oh how I love pomegranate !!



Passion fruit.
I miss the passion fruit vine we had growing at the old house.
I need to plant one here !



Feijoa.

This is new to me.
I'd never even heard of it before.
I bought it yesterday and ate it this morning.

The verdict is still out as to whether or not I like it.
It tasted a bit like detergent smells.
But the taste was not so overpoweringly bad that I didn't finish it.

I think I need to try cooking with it ... or baking ...
The little info sheet I got with it has a few recipes that look like they'd be nice.
May have to try one !!

Sharing Passion Fruit

So ... we had some good guesses but only two of you guessed correctly ... it is a passion fruit !

I planted this passion fruit vine in our back yard a couple of years ago.
The plan was for it to grow along the fence yielding heaps of fruit for our picking.



Instead it grew up into a tree.
A very very tall tree !



It's yielding heaps of fruit, just not for the picking.
We have to wait for them to get ripe and then drop off the tree !



Which they do ...
And they are delicious !!



And one day Jill, cousin of mine, when you come to visit me in Australia,
I'm going to make you eat this fruit that looks like it threw up all over itself !
And you're going to like it !!!
