NOTD: Nails Inc Diet Coke Exclusive "Heather Grey"

I had a lovely weekend in York and even squeezed in a trip to IKEA and got myself some Swedish food and furniture :)

And I managed to get "Heather Grey" from the Diet Coke exclusives from Nails Inc! I tried to get away with one coat here as I was in a hurry to do my nails, but it's not as opaque as "Denim"... This is still 1 coat with no top coat but my index finger is a bit thin towards the edge of the nail.

I love this colour with it's cool mauve-grey hue :) I haven't really got any dupes for this. Essie "Angora Cardi" is a lot warmer and more rose than mauve. I'm going to take a photo of this in daylight as I think this may be slightly warmer than it is in real life.

I'm off to watch the repeat of "Alice" on Syfy, as I missed the first episode!

NOTD: Nails Inc Diet Coke Exclusive "Denim"

Sorry I've not been around lately, I came down with a stomach bug last Wednesday and I am still signed off sick as it has not improved... Very run down and waiting for test results to come back. Ugh... Anyway, onto today's story - when I went to Boots to get some more rehydration salts on Tuesday I spotted this years Diet Coke limited edition Nails Inc polishes, a free bottle with purchase of 2 Diet Coke 500ml! If you're quick you there may still be some polishes left!

I chose this one, but in hindsight I should've gone for the "Heather Grey", as they will probably be sold out by the time I get back there and "Denim" may be a little bit too close to the old, now discontinued Nails Inc "Hanover Square" of which I have 2 bottles... I will do some comparisons in daylight tomorrow.

This, I kid you not, is 1 coat with NO top coat. I am not joking. The formula on this is AMAZING!!! Just what I needed right now. That, and those juicy blueberries in the background. Now if I could only get my hands on "Heather Grey". I have a feeling it will be a lighter version of Essie "Angora Cardi", one of my top ten faves of all time. For the nostalgic of us, here is my top pick from the Diet Coke exclusives last year - "London".

NOTD: Nails Inc "Aspen" and some other stuff!

Today I've got an old fave of mine on - the naughty red shimmer "Aspen" from Nails Inc. I am on my second bottle of this Holy Grail of red nail polishes! The photo here doesn't do this glowy, showy, sexy polish justice. With the butter-smooth Nails Inc formula this is a Top Ten of All Time nail polish for me! This is 2 coats with a slick of MegaShine.

Also I have fallen in love with Lola by Marc Jacobs. I finally had so many Boots Reward Card points, I got myself a bottle after spraying this lovely mist on myself for ages during meanders at lunch time... Look at that curvaceous bottle! I am not a perfume connoiseur so I won't pretend I know how to describe this scent, but I loooooove Lola! :)

And finally a huge thank you to everyone who has commented recently, I love reading your comments and I am sorry I rarely have something witty or wise to reply with!! :)

As a distraction from the football World Cup starting tomorrow, I've gone for a full beauty overhaul so I've got some reviews coming up later this week, including faux tan, tinted moisturisers comparison and some new Minx products, so stick around! :)

See ya soon, lovies!

NOTD: Nails Inc "Diet Coke: London"

What was I thinking?? Nude/greige creme, when I have such awesome choices as Topshop "Copper Coated" and "Carry on camping"?? Well, I don't know, been really suffering from my recently bruised ribs after all that gardening yesterday (I couldn't even get out of bed and couldn't sleep for my sore back and midriff)... I think I may just be ill, hehe.

It's a nice polish though! Same buttery smooth Nails Inc formula as ever, and this is 2 perfect coats and top coat. I like it. Maybe will look better if I'd not broken a nail today doing the vegetables for roast chicken... Damn you potato peeler from IKEA!!! Never mind, it's done, I just have to suffer for a while until it grows out. This is one of 4 different colours that you get free right now when you buy 2 500ml Diet Coke bottles from Boots! But this was the only unique colour so I got this one.

Anyway, I will do my first "face" with my new Topshop makeup tomorrow, so stay tuned for a FOTD tomorrow night! :)

Recent NOTDs!

Wow I can barely keep up with my blogging, I'm changing nail polish so often :P I actually pre-ordered my Chanel "Particuliere" today. I must be crazy. But it just looks soooooo lovely - just look at Neglelakkmani's pix!

Anyway, from the top is the lovely new Nails Inc "Seven dials" (I don't get the name... If someone does, please let me know). Usual Nails Inc dream formula, smooth and opaque. And a colour not to be missed - see how it compares to some I thought might be similar but really aren't. Wow, just love this colour :) Bottles from left to right: Orly "Mint Mojito", Nails Inc "Seven dials", Misa "Dirty sexy money" and Barry M "Mint Green".

Second from the top is one of last weeks NOTD; OPI "Bright light big color", a nice and sparkly orange that got me in the mood for spring! This is 3 coats and top coat. Wore like iron, I had it on from Wednesday til Sunday, it's only marginally cracked and that was on my bad peeling nails.

Then last but not least is No7 "Twinkles", this is a nude similar to China Glaze "Innocence" but with multiglitter! Woohoo! :) I majorly smudged this mani however so I had to take it off and do another one, also note the remains of the Suede FX lacquer... Ooops. Not my best moment, so to speak...

Anyway I am off to pen my reviews for this weekend for the Soap&Glory stuff I am addicted to right now - I am having my foot operation on Thursday morning so I am getting verrrrry nervous... Anyhow, see ya'll soon!

NOTD: Nails Inc "Hanover Street"

When I wore this last time I didn't take a photo of it, strangely enough. Its a metallic deep blue, with a slight hint of green. It just borders on a teal. This is one of the polishes I bought in London in October. It has that fantastic Nails Inc formula that makes the brand so good - opaque in 2 thin coats and a fantastic depth. This is 2 thin coats over Nailtek Foundation II and Poshe top coat.

HTF NOTD: Nails Inc "Friendly Selfridges"

This nail polish was found in a dusty display in Selfridges department store in London in October 2008. I think it might be a Selfridges exclusive. This is can be considered HTF cause it's a) Nails Inc and b) a limited edition/store exclusive colour.
In the bottle it looks like a gilded metallic red, but on the nail its a glimmering deep, rich, glowy bronze. Like autumn leaves. It's very lovely, and it's a shame it's been untried for so long! It has the nice Nails Inc formula that goes on smooth and is opaque in 2 coats. This is with Nailtek II Foundation base coat and Poshe top coat.

NOTD: Nails Inc "Ascot"

How gorgeous is this green?! It's couple of years old now, so becoming harder to find.. I might need to get a backup bottle for this while there is time.

It's the same super-opaque Nails Inc formula, superb to apply and has a nice deep shimmer and dries quickly to a high shine.

NOTD: SH Nail Prisms "Amber Ruby" over Nails Inc "Victoria"

I am still in awe over the Sally Hansen Nail Prisms "Amber Ruby". It is just so deliciously dark duochromey and firey. Like a burning sunset sky or autumn leaves... This is B/C then 2 coats of Nails Inc. "Victoria", a nearly black burgundy creme. Then 2 coats of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms "Amber Ruby" and Poshe T/C. It's really hard to capture the great duochrome in this polish but it goes from a deep burgundy to a amber glow in different lights.
Please excuse the tatty cuticles :( House hunting doesn't leave much time for advanced nail care...

NOTD - Nails Inc "Aspen"

I initially got this from a work buddy of mine and promptly used up the bottle on endless applications on my tootsies. Nothing like taking your socks off and seeing your sexy red toenails to cheer you up :)

I bought a brand new bottle of this colour when I went to London (nail polish re-purchasing, why I never!!). "Aspen" is a deep metallic true red. With just two coats and a touch of Seche Vite, it makes for killer nails. This is my second application on my hands, and it never seizes to amaze me how awesome this colour really is. It's not for shrinking violets however; it will get you noticed and even if you are no spring chicken, "Aspen" is one of those polishes that will get you free drinks all night long... :)

Autumn Anticipation

In waiting for my Nfu-Oh Opal nail polishes I have been resting my nails and putting on Solarbalm 3 times a day to keep them hydrated. But I wanted to show everyone this gorgeous green from Nails Inc. It's called Ascot, and came out last year. Just look at that green loveliness. Now I just have to get my hands on the new China Glaze fall collection and the highly awaited Emerald Sparkle from China Glaze's Christmas collection... :)
