NOTD: George Cosmetics "Ultraviolet"

I went to Asda last night for cat litter, and I found that they now stock George Cosmetics! They had quite a few nail polish colours, including some matte ones (they matte pastel pink is my next buy!).

I picked up a couple as they are only £1.50 each. This colour is a duochrome lilac-blue in the bottle but the applied mess was a total disappointment.

This is 4 coats (I got tired of trying to make it look ok) and if you have long nails, this will still give you VNL... It is supposedly "quick-dry"; I found it to be neither. This is my right hand, the usual left hand was completely ruined by sheet marks and dents as despite putting on China Glaze FastForward as top coat lats night, the polish is still soft and dentable today.

I still have another polish to try and I hope it will perform better because it is a gorgeously luminous green frost in the bottle...

NOTD China Glaze "Mummy May I"

A lovely lady from America sent me the gorgeous Orly "It's not rocket science" and a mass of other to die for nail polishes so here's hoping I can show these all off in the next few weeks! I got the new China Glaze Awakening set for Halloween 2010, and here is my first choice - "Mummy May I". It is a blackened plum base with hot fuschia glitter. The glitter isn't as obvious as I would like it but it's still a very cool polish! This is 3 coats with 2 coats of China Glaze FastForward top coat. The formula on this was thick and unpleasant but it did dry very quickly even without speed dry top coat.

I also managed to get my mitts on one of the new Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique Nail Trio's! This is "Garden of Eden". What a lovely name! :D I thought from photos on Superdrug website that it was a dark green/orangey sheer glitter combo but it's better than that!! I wasn't sure how the layering would look but OMG it's awesome (nail on far right)! :D I also bought the nail polish remover from this range; it comes in a professional pump bottle and supposedly smells of spearmint??? I will review this when I try and remove this glitter tomorrow! :)

I am finally on holiday for 2 1/2 weeks and I will be returning to Sweden for my vacay; there is confirmed rumours my sweet Mother has got me some of the cool new Isadora Graffiti nail polishes! :) I should get plenty of time to catch up on my blogging...

Anyway I am just dashing off to see Pirahna 3D in the cinema, so see you all tomorrow!!

NOTD: Makeup Academy Shade no 13

I love to find new cheap nail polishes. Makeup Academy (MUA) is a range of budget makeup that Superdrug has just recently brought out; it has some great nail polish colours including this one and a mint green one. I also bought a nice minty green eye shadow with a matching metallic-y eyeliner and they both performed superbly on top of my lovely new bareMinerals Eye Primer.

This is hard to capture; I will need to get another photo tomorrow in daylight if I can. This is 2 coats with Sally Hansen MegaShine top coat. It annoys me when companies can't even be bothered making up names for their colours. This is simply No 13. With it's soft warm green shimmer that applies beautifully it should be called something like "Green Velvet" or something...

This is not bad for £1! I love it, I may splurge on a couple of more shades at lunchtime tomorrow!

NOTD: Mulensa #60 and Max Factor "Earth Stone"

It's actually weekend mani - for my first day at my new job tomorrow I am rocking Rimmel LycraPRO "Urban Princess" again. I love finding new cheap brands of nail polish :) This brand is called Mulensa and the number is 60 so it has no real name. I got it for a killer bargain on eBay, 99p. It's very good for a cheap brand, I am glad I got this greeny one and a pinky one with similar finish. Brush was OK, if you're careful you can hardly see the brush strokes.

My ring finger is Max Factor "Earth Stone". I got it because I had a coupon so it was really cheap. I really like the colour, but the brush is ehm, not so good. The polish seems to pool in the brush and then release an avalanche of polish when you least expect it :( Hence all the mess. You can't get rid of the brush strokes easy either. But love the colour!

And stay tuned for this weekend, something lovely will be coming up... :)
