NOTD: Depend 193 + 195

I saw these and loved them in the bottle, but was dubious on how smoothly they would go on. But I was surprised! Amazingly brush-stroke free application, opaque in 2 thin coats and a lovely metallic lustre. I love Depend nail polishes, wish they were sold in Britain! I get mine from my dearest Mum! Thank you mum! :) This is 195 (blue) with 193 (pink).

I suppose I should have gone for a gold and blue manicure as it is the Swedish National Day today, but I honestly didn't remember! I went bowling today (atrocious scores!) and broke a nail so I needed something to cheer me up and this was definitly it! :)

NOTD: H&M "Fashionista"

Sometimes the best thing in life are, well, not free, but cheap! So is the case with H&M nail polishes. I have shown you one of their old ones, but this is one of their new lines. It is slightly similar to China Glaze "Coconut Kiss", with the same velvety texture. Oh how I yearn for a deep pink version of this! This is 2 streak-free coats over Nubar Nu Nail and Sally Hansen MegaShine top coat. Wow! I am loving this nail polish and I think I need to return to H&M to check out some more of their current shades :)

NOTD: GOSH "Metallic Green"

It's been really stormy here at the weekend, with sunshine and gusts up to 55mph. I've taken this as an opportunity to be inside and frantically been trying to clear all my stuff from the move now that all the cupboards and wardrobes are operational. I decided to cheer myself up with a nice green manicure for tomorrow :)

This is part of GOSH's metallic polishes; I've got green, blue, lilac, gold and silver. I didn't manage to do a very good job of this, sorry about that. Also if you have less than perfect nails, metallic colours will be cruel in showing every flaw (mine took a serious hit a few months back when I broke four nails on my photogenic hand hence the horizontal ridge halfway across). However this is only one coat of polish over Sally Hansen Diamond Strength 2-in-1 base coat. Low maintenance nails if there ever were :) It dries in about ten-fifteen minutes, and don't be tempted with top coat - it will ruin the finish of metallic polishes. These polishes are all satiny, mirror-like in appearance and dry so quickly you won't need a speed-dry top coat. However the formula is a bit runny and makes for a bit of tricky application; the polish pools very easily and leaves some brush marks. "Metallic Green" is very similar to China Glaze "Cherish".

I think I've found my "spot" now for taking pictures of nail polish. This is a lot better than some recent photos (save the poor application and ridged nails!). I will need to carry out some shots of different finishes and see how it goes!

NOTD: China Glaze "Emotion"

I am loving my pinks right now, I can't seem to get enough of them. This is another lovely swap item :) The Romantique collection were all gorgeous pastelly metallic shades, but they are awkward to apply; the formula needs to glide on fairly thick and precisely to avoid heavy brush strokes, and this causes cuticle overflow. This is before clean-up.

However they are opaque in one thick coat, so amazing for Konad! I might do a flowery Konad pattern with the lilac "Harmony" over this manicure later. This is 2 coats over Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Base and Top Coat, finished with Sally Hansen Mega Shine. Goodness I missed the quick-dry top coat!!

SpaRitual Nail Polish In The Post!

I've been quite longing for these, after seeing so many nice colours on The Nailphile's blog. One was out of stock and hopefully will be arriving soonish, the others look very nice, the bottles are lovely with the same rubbery grip the Bloom bottle has, which I loved :) I will be swatching these as soon as I get tired of "Isla", which could to be fair be a while... :D
