Manicure Essentials

Here is a round up of what I currently use for my manicures. It has turned out really well, my manicure lasts for 4 days before I get impatient and change my polish :) I like the little tin of SolarBalm, because I can keep it in my handbag and just apply throughout the day in the office :) The Seche Silk is lovely, it is instantly absorbed and smells of lavender. Seche Clear is a base coat (ridge fillers stain my nails so I went for this clear version) and I have not noticed any polish stains at all on the new growth of my nails. Nothing needs to be said about Seche Vite - it is THE top coat and well worth every penny :)

Scabby nails :(

As I look forward to my China Glaze's Rodeo Diva polishes arriving next week, having spent a fortune on them, I realise my nails are in a state of desperate unhappiness. They're rough, unpolished and wonky. All thanks to a lovely week with my boyfriend riding mountainbikes (my face isn't too happy either from all the wind, rain and mud). I'm normally a short and funky kinda gal, so shouldn't take much to put them back into shape. But I was kind of hoping I could grow them longer, but oh well. On a good note tho, my cuticles are for once really nice, as I've been smothering them with Solarbalm all week :)

Now I just have to wait for those sweet bottles to arrive. Oh hurry up postman...

Autumn Anticipation

In waiting for my Nfu-Oh Opal nail polishes I have been resting my nails and putting on Solarbalm 3 times a day to keep them hydrated. But I wanted to show everyone this gorgeous green from Nails Inc. It's called Ascot, and came out last year. Just look at that green loveliness. Now I just have to get my hands on the new China Glaze fall collection and the highly awaited Emerald Sparkle from China Glaze's Christmas collection... :)

CND SolarBalm

I have discovered a little gem of a treatment. Creative Nail Design's SolarOil has been one of my favourite treatments for dry cuticles and nails, and they have now made it into a balm. It comes in a very dinky 9 gram golden pot which will fit into the smallest handbag. SolarBalm can be used for the lips and other dry bits of skin as well as the nails so it's a bit of a miracle product. I found it conditioned my rough cuticles very nicely and leaves nails shiny and fresh-looking. It will however leave greasy marks on your clothes and paper should you go overboard on the application.. It sinks into the skin within about 10 minutes so plenty of time to push back cuticles. I will give it 4 out of 5 stars, as it is very pricey for such a small tin (it retails for £10 RRP for 9 gram of product!!).
