NOTD: Rimmel 60sec "Starlet"

Just what I needed today, a sweet, shimmering pink! I am not sure if I already have this polish, in an older variety?.. It's lovely so if I do, it's not a problem :)

I am very much into knitting too in case you didn't know. I have started knitting more than usual as it really helps to chill out. But it's kind of hard on the hands; they are a right state at the moment but I am working on it. I am using tons of hand cream! If you have any tips on flake-free cuticles let me know...

As I've misplaced my usual Sally Hansen base and top coats in the move somewhere, I got replacement ones with my Boots Reward points today - Sally Hansen "Nailgrowth Miracle" treatment polish/base coat and Sally Hansen "Nail Shine Miracle". So far so good however I don't think "Nail Shine Miracle" top coat is as quick drying as MegaShine but it's not bad - I would say a good 5 mins is required for dent-proofing. These new Sally Hansens are very pricey - just about a quid shy of OPI Nail Envy and Seche Vite top coat at £9.45. That's a little more that I would normally pay for a so called drugstore brand. I will let you know the wear test results!

This is 3 coats of "Starlet" with a slick of Nail Shine Miracle. Lets see how this combo holds up to housework, plant collecting and knitting! :)

Quickies Nail Vanish Remover Pads

Hey kidz, I've been rather busy lately but thought I'd pop in to tell you about a rediscovery while I played around with the new Template Designer on Blogger!

I am house/cat sitting at my in-laws until next Tuesday so I have a little tub of Quickies nail polish remover wipes for removing my Nubar Nu Nail nail strengthener and I realised why I always used to use these! They smell strongly of naff 80s perfume, but they remove even several layers of glitter (I dabbled with cool-in-bottle-but-crap-on-nail Revlon "Banana Blaze" yellow glitter on one of my nails). They feel slightly greasy as they are very moisturising. These are ideal in your holiday bag / handbag for on the move nail polish removing as they are moist but not drippy-droppy! :) I used to only use these instead of cotton and remover, and I may just need to go back to these. permanently..

Quickies come in a tub of 20 wipes, I usually use 2 for all ten nails. You can get these for £1.79 a tub in Superdrug and sometimes they do the miniature version of them (also come in a pack of 20 wipes), which are even more ideal for your handbag!

Exciting news!

Hey kidz, I went to Boots today and got 3 of their new shades for summer which were released today - the one I was most excited to see for myself was "Beanie", a supposed dupe to Chanel "Particuliere". And indeed it seems to be a dupe, as far as I can see, spot on! I didn't get that one as I already have "Particuliere" and I am so in love with it I couldn't cheat on it, but I did get some other nifty shades I will show you tonight! :)

NOTD: L'Oreal "734 Black Red"

Wow, I am in love! L'Oreal has brought out some blackened polishes in their Resist & Shine Titanium range, and this is the most awesome of them - 734 Black Red. There is also a purple, mauve, gold glitter and turqoise.

This is ONE coat of polish over base coat, it's amazingly pigmented :) And it glows from within with a deep metallic red :) I put Sally Hansen MegaShine on and it glows even more! It's mesmerising. I don't have any other polishe like this one, and I would love if they did a hot pink/fuschia version of this!

NOTD: GOSH "Flamingo"

I slapped this on while I was making Sunday roast chicken dinner. I thought, why not use the base and top coat from GOSH I got the other day as well? It goes on smooth and glossy, this is 2 coats over GOSH Fix Base coat and topped with GOSH Top Coat. Drying time is great for products that are not meant to be fast drying, it was touch dry to faff about with cooking the chicken in 20 mins! I love the colour of "Flamingo", beautiful bright pink that is a touch warmer and less lilac-y than shown here; still trying to find a place in my new house that is good for NOTD pics...
