A Night Out Look! ^^

OK! One last makeup post before I go to Jakarta for internship, hehe.. :D Since I’ll be busy with my day job and probably passed out in bed after work, so I’ll be posting about what’s going in my regular life more often.. :) On the weekend, I’ll try to write beauty-related post. Fair enough, right? ^^

For this post, I’m going to create a night out look using the Eye Rockz eyeshadows that Vaun recently sent me! Thank you so much, Vaun! :D

Here they are…

DSC04352

As you can see, I got the “Sweet Lilac, Rock Chick, Frosty Lilac, Snowflakes, and Girly”  I’m in the mood for anything purple (again), hehe.. :D

Swatches:

DSC04354

Sweet Lilac is so soft and sweet, like lavender.. Really really love the color.. :D

Fresh Lilac is a big surprise for me, since it’s the frosty version of the Sweet Lilac so I will use it in this post for the night look!

Rock Chick is a mix of grey and purple, and it complements the two of them very well..

Great combo, right? It’s my purple palette! ^^

DSC04356

Snowflakes is a white and a bit sheer when it’s applied, but it’s very useful for any look. It can be used for highlighting or just for shimmering.. :D

Girly is pink! Nuff said, haha.. :P I’ll have to make another look for this, watch out for the next makeup post! ^^

Makeup base and cheeks

Eyes

VOV Skin Control Base, Bourjois Concealer, Bourjois Eyeliner, Palgantong Eyeliner, Eyelash Curler, Maybelline Mascara, NYX Eyeshadow brush, Lavhusca Eyeshadow, Eye Rockz in Frosty Lilac, Rock Chick, Snowflakes.

As far as I concern, eyes are so much more complicated than the face and lips ah! So much effort for such a tiny area, haha.. But there’s the art right there, hehe.. :D

eyes purple

To make it short, here’s the finished look.. (What??? Just like that???) OK, just kidding.. :P

Step by step:

Use the VOV Skin Control Base as the eye base, and then apply Frosty Lilac on the eyelid. Above that, apply Rock Chick on the crease. Use Snowflakes for highlighting and on the inner corner of your eyes to make it look ‘pop’. For the upper eyeliner, use the Borjouis Eyeliner in black and Palgantong Eyeliner in lower liner, but only half and make it as thin as possible (I don’t want to make it look too smokey). I also added the dark plum color from the Lavhusca eye palette above to make the outer V corner. Maybelline Mascara is the last.

Seems simple but in reality you have to use your feeling.. :) The key to make a night look eye is the FRAME. If the eyes are framed beautifully, they will look bigger and POP! ^^ Therefore, eyeshadow and eyeliner are the essentials.  I’m still an amateur in this too, but I’m practicing hard.. :)

And.. down to the lips.. So simple.. Skin79 Lipstick and Bourjois Lipgloss..

FOTDs!  \(^_^)/

Barbie Eye Hyper Lens Adult Blue Review+ Alice in Wonderland EOTD! ^^

It was all started on Facebook..

When I saw this picture, I knew I just couldn’t resist.

(If you click on the photo, it will direct you to the FB page..)

So, I made the PO/ Pre-Order about 2 months ago, and it took so long to get it because it has to be custom-made since I’m cylinder(astigmatism)-minus. But! After the long wait, the time has finally come, haha.. I received my lens 2 days ago! ^^

lens package

What’s in there?? Yuhuuu.. Blue Penguin! ^^

barbie eye lens

It’s my soft lens! Freshly imported from South Korea! The land of Super Junior, BoA, TVXQ, 2NE1, oh and.. many more.. haha.. I just love K-Pop music! ^^

Ok la, let’s continue with the review.. :)

lens barbie

You can see the lens over there.. The blue color is not too dark, but not too light either.. The diameter is  14.2 mm and the water content is 42%.. It says it can make your eyes look bigger.. Let’s just see about that! ^^

fresh eye

For the refreshing solution.. I bought this one, and it’s also made in South Korea.. I think the formula is great, 6 in 1! Remove the protein, clean, soak, sterilize, kill germs and moist. No irritation so far. And it’s pretty cheap too! It’s Rp 30.000,- or $3 for 120+40 ml!

complete     And this is for the lens drops.. Really refreshing and cooling to my eyes! I use it once every hour, because I’m still new to contact lens, I try to care for my eyes better! ^^

When I tried to wear the lens, I was nervous. It’s my 1st time to try to really wear contact lens, so it’s kinda scaring me. I mean, what if my eyes become irritated or tearing all the time? What if I drop the lens? What if, what if, what if… haih.. >_<

But with all my strength and courage, I put the lens on. It took about 15 minutes until it’s finally placed safe and sound. Phew!   ~_~'

bigger eyes

And this is how it looks when I put it on.. What do you think? Yay or Nay??

me barbie Full face FOTD, Me with the blue eyes! ^^

On my face: Shiseido Maquillage foundation, Nars Orgasm blush .

Hmm.. I feel like an anime character on the Japanese manga (comic book), haha.. :P

*The soft lens review*

I think the lens is very pretty, I love the blue color.. Matches with my skin and makes my face more radiant. My eyes look bigger too! Many of my college friends wear contact lens too, but most of them wear the neutral brown color.. While me, the risk-taker and adventurer, I challenge myself to wear blue! And I think I succeed to rock this look, haha.. :)

But, there is one thing funny happened when I tried to wear it for the first time.

Well, when I put my RIGHT lens, my vision was clear, OK, no problem.. But when I put my LEFT lens, my vision was suddenly blur… What?? I tried to blink a few times, but still blur.. Hmm.. I thought, is something wrong ya? I checked the lens prescription, everything was right. So what could it be?

So, if you can guess it, what I did do next?

Yup, I googled it.. hehe..

And I found, this thing could have happened because of various reasons, but one of them, is because you placed them the backwards (flipped the wrong way). Haih.. My bad, I’m a newbie, hehe.. :P So I removed it, cleaned it one more time and put my lens the right way.. And my vision is clear.. Finally! v(^_^)v

It takes some time to adjust my eyes with the lens, but I read it also it’s normal to most people.. I can feel there’s something's in my eyes.. it’s not nagging me, but it did feel kinda awkward at first, haha.. It seems my eyes were saying: “Hey! What’s this strange thing hanging on me??” :P

After trying the lens for a half an hour, I can barely feel I’m wearing any lens, but I did miss the feeling wearing glasses on my face. When I wanted to fix my glasses, I realized, “Oh ya, I’m wearing soft lens now!” haha.. ^^

I’ve been wearing this lens for 2 days, and so far, I feel good! But the only thing bothering me is when I used the lens at night while I’m driving, I saw the car light and the road light look like flaming! My cylinder eyes are very sensitive with light.. *sigh* But it didn’t disturb my driving, thank goodness, I could still drive normally. So, I only wear it for daytime, and not too long, less then 8 hours per day. Also, I bring the lens drop in my bag, so I can use it as often as I can. The weather in Indonesia is hot and humid, I don’t want my lens and eyes get dry, yes??? ^^

***********************************************

Well, that’s it for the soft lens review.. But since I’m in such a good mood today, I will share another review and EOTD! The review is about one of my recent beauty purchase, based on what Sarah from http://glossicious.blogspot.com/ recommended me for a highlighter powder, so I bought this! ^^

NYX Highlighter Mosaic Powder MPB 01

What a  lovely mosaic colors! ^^

(the brown and white colors seems alike, right?)

I must say, thank you Sarah for recommending me this, I love it! ^^

This highlighter gave me the ‘polished’ look and made my skin look fresh! The powder feels soft on my skin, not heavy.. And if you noticed, the purple and pink color hides my redness pretty well.. :) While the yellow, brown and white is good for highlighting effect. The price is affordable too, around $13. Happy wallet for me! ^^

makeup   L-R: Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara in Black, MAC Moon Reflection Veluxe Pearl Eyeshadow (what a poetic name!) for the lid, Lavhusca Eyeshadow PK-1 (used the top left one for shimmer highlighting) and Palgantong Eye Liner Pencil in Pearl White.

The result

I’m so happy! My eyes look pretty with blue! Reminded me of Alice in Wonderland.. (I wanna see the movie, too!) ^^

Can you see the highlighting effect on my nose and under eyes?? ^^

fotd Yay! More FOTDs!

Well then, that’s it for the review.. What do you all think? Have you tried wearing soft lens before? How is your experience? Share with me! ^^

ps: for disclaimer, I wasn’t paid to do this review, I bought this lens by my own will and did this review based on my honest opinion.. ^^

Quick Update: Going to Singapore! ^^

Hello everyone! ^^

It’s been a week since my last post.. waa.. such a long absence..

I’ve been thinking what to write, but alas.. too much activities..really really sorry..

But now I have a great news! I’m going to Singapore!!! Yay yay yay! ^^

Ehm, so the story was simple..

After we got back from Hong Kong, my mom was super excited about the idea that we should go overseas more often..

And last week, she asked me to go to Singapore.. just for fun.. (just imagine having a mother like that?? What a blessing, haha..) Of course I agree la! ^^

OK, so the main idea, it’s all about my mom’s spontaneity..  ;)

We’re going to Singapore this Friday till Sunday, 3 days only.. and I promise I’ll blog about all the fun that we have there!! (I think I’ll have to apply as a travelling reporter when I graduated later, I’m getting good at this, mwahahaha..)

Alright then, I’ll have to go and prepare things to pack..but not so much things to pack anyway, haha.. I don’t like to carry too many things.. :) Some clothes, some makeup, my BB and I’m good to go! ^^

I’ll see you all again after I’m back from Singapore!!

Bye bye! ^^v

How I Wash My Brush + Joshua’s Birthday Report! ^^

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday to you all! I’ve been meaning to write this post like, forever, hehe.. ^^ So here it goes!

I’ve seen so many brush washing tips everywhere in the net, but I think I have to make my own version of it, so this is how I wash my brush.. ^^

wash brush

Ms. Froggy on the background, hehe.. Here you see there are the tools that I use for washing my brush. 2 bowls, with lukewarm water in it, baby milk bath (I use one from Johnson’s), and.. Dettol. Hmm? Sounds a bit odd, eh? Well, it’s my own-specially-developed way to thoroughly clean cosmetic brush, muahahahaha.. ^^

The steps:

milk bath Pour the baby milk bath to the 1st bowl, not too much.. You can measure it yourself.

woohoo

Time for a bath! It took less than a minute to wash this foundation brush. Swirl here, swirl there.. ^^

Ok, if you think that it’s clean enough, than moving on to the next step..

dettol

Now..Antiseptic! Don’t use too much, a half/third of the bottle cap is enough.

The reason why I chose Dettol because I think the brush is supposed to be clean, hygienic, and free from nasty germs..

If I only wash it with the baby milk bath/shampoo, it’s not clean enough for me.

So, it’s like washing your clothes, right? Use detergent only, fine.
But it’d be better if you use the softener, hehe..

dettol2    OK! You can swirl it a bit, but remember to put it there for a while, for me it’s less than a minute.

If you worry about the smell, don’t worry.. Think as if it’s a treatment for your brush. I don’t mind about the smell, anyway.

I think it’s a good sign for a clean and healthy brush! ^^

OK, now that you’re almost done.

Go rinse it off with your tap/running water.

And then,

towel

Find a clean towel, gently press the brush on it. Don’t press too hard! ^^

Just make sure it’s not damp. The drier it is, the better.

This process takes less than 5 minutes per brush, so it’s really quick and easy peasy! ^^

Here’s the thing, I usually wash my brush at night, so after all the steps above are done, I’ll just leave them lying there in my room overnight.

So the next morning when I want to use it, it’s dry already!

Wash your brush as often as you can, but for me, 2-3 times a week is OK. I do use them everyday, but since I use this method, they’re not as dirty as it’s used to be. They’re much cleaner and healthier for my face. ^^ Hope it helps you!

ps: How do you wash your brush anyway?? Do Share some of your tips here too, OK?? ^^

Review for The Flower Silky Foundation-The Face Shop! ^^

It's review time!! ^^
I'm so excited with this review thing, I can test so many cool new products! ^^
You've seen the beauty haul that I bought from Jakarta in this post, so I'm gonna review The Flower Silky Foundation that I bought from The Face Shop for you!

But first, let me introduce to my makeup base tool.. I always use Foundation Brush (this is from The Body Shop) and Facial Mist. This one right here is from Avene.. I also have one from Evian, French water works great on my skin! ^^ It can moisturize your skin, hydrate it, and make a perfect base for your makeup.. Water is essential, of course.. =)
The ingredients.. So many of them..and flowers! Lots of them.. ^^
The description.. The color is NB 23
product description (taken from http://www.thefaceshopen.com/)

Concept
The name ‘THE FLOWER’ comes from its ingredients. Made with mineral-enriched edible flowers such as Rose Jasmine Chamomile and more these flower petals have been grinded into micro-pigments with an advanced technology to provide flawless moisturized and luminous skin.

Description
Skin-friendly natural wax extracted from Olive protects moisture loss and provides silky finish. Skin loos comfortable and naturally beautiful.

This foundation has so many flowers extract in it, so I was hooked by the term "flower", hehe.. ^^
the shape is so cute! ^^
Very hygienic with the pump! ^^
The color is quite yellow for me.. I have yellow undertone skin, but I usually don't like a too yellowish foundie.. It makes my skin look like, well.. yellow..hahaha.. ^^
I think it's close to orange, don't u think?? ^^
Blending and voila! ^^
I know it's quite sheer in my hand, but when it's on my face..
FOTD! ^^

What I "like" about this foundation:
~ The staying power! ^^ It stays pun on your skin, don't melt like other heavy foundie.. When I tried this one for the 1st time, it stayed for 6 hours without blotting! No kiddin'! Wooww.. ^^ (I topped it with Palgantong powder, too..)
~ Soft like silk finish! Why it's called silky foundation? Because it does give you silky finish.. very natural.. and when I touched my face after using this foundie.. it feels smooth.. ^^
~ Don't feel heavy.. This is a lightweight foundation..
~It has many flower extract, LOVE it! ^^

What I "don't like" about this:
~ Not giving me the dewy or glowy finish.. it's just quite natural for me..
~ Too yellow/orange for me.. The color too yellowish in my opinion, but I think it will fit to most of other fair skin tone..
~ Lack of concealing power.. although it has sheer to medium coverage, but for redness or blemishes, it's not enough.. I have to wear 2 layers of it to make a desirable coverage..
~No SPF! But I guess you can wear sunblock to overcome this.. ^^

Oya, Nikki's "Askmewhats.com:" also did a review for this, you can check it out in here. It looks dewy on her, but on my face it looks more natural and silky finish, not too dewy for me, hehe..
Bottomline is: it's a quite decent foundation, if you want to go to school, or maybe in your regular day out in the sun, it can give you the natural look that you want (don't forget to use sunblock, too!). It's not too strong, but stays on your skin.
I'm wearing this when I go to college, or when I want to go out with my friends..

Actually, I choose my makeup based on my mood in the morning. If I'm in the mood for BB Cream, I'll wear it, but if not, I'll wear the normal foundation like this. Oh well, it's about having fun with makeup, right?? ^^

That's it for the review!
Don't forget to comment here, okey?? I'm glad to hear your feedback! ^^

Beauty Haul + Fab Makeover!! ^^

Hello everyone!! ^^
Long time no blogging.. hehe..
I'll be more diligent next time (I'll try..^^)
So, last weekend me, my mom and bro went to Jakarta for a bit freshen up, and I've bought so many beauty products!! This is the picture for you..

My beauty haul.. ^^
Reviews later! Gosh, I have so many pending reviews.. I have to blog more frequently, hehe..
So many beauty products!! ^^

Plus there's another story..
When we were shopping at that time, it crossed my mind that I wanted to buy a foundation for my mom, and at the moment we passed by The Body Shop counter, so we stopped and buy TBS Moisture Foundation SPF 15 .
I told my mom, 'why don't you give it a try here?' So we asked the SA to help my mom applying this foundation.
And guess what??
My mom got a Fabulous Makeover!! ^^
This guy, Brian is such a sweet guy and he totally made my mom looked FAB!! Thank you so much, Brian!! You're amazing!! ^^
This is the TBS products that Brian used for my mom's makeover..
I try to list it all here, I hope I don't forget anything, hehe..
He used a lot of products, after all.. ^^

OK then, makeover, START! ^^
TBS shelves are so well designed! Look at all the beautiful colors.. ^^
And my mom's really happy for getting a makeover.. hehe..
The eyes using TBS Shimmer Cubes Warm
Maybe I should buy that later, hohoho.. ^^

After waiting for a while..
Voila! ^^
The Final Look! ^^
I just love it, the blushing cheek, smokey eyes.. hehe..
And my mom really loves the foundation, it suits her sensitive skin.. ^^
With Brian..
You're so creative! ^^
If you're in Jakarta or nearby there, you can meet him in
The Body Shop counter in Margo City, Depok.. Don't forget to tell Brian that I'm the one who recommended him for his great work of art, hehe...
"Terimakasih, Brian!!!" ^^

Well, after the makeover, we headed to the Ichiban Sushi, my fave place to eat! I just love the Salmon Teriyaki Bento there.. So yummy!! ^^
My mom posed..
Do you know that my mom used to be a model in her younger years?? ^^
I still have her picture in the cover of the magazines hanging on the wall..
And my first cover in the magazine is in the Ayah Bunda magazine (with my mom, of course), I was still a CUTE (hehe.. I have to point that out.. ^^) 2 year old baby girl at that time..
Itadakimasu!! ^^

See you at the next post!!
Have a great day, everyone..
^^
