NOTD: Mavala "Velvet"

So I had a day off on Friday to do some xmas shopping and I picked up this little beauty in John Lewis. It was once part of a set that I eyed up but decided against as the other two colours were just 'meh' to me. But I finally saw this one sold separately! :)

I am still in love with the muddy colours, greige and dusky pastels. 'So last year' I know but my goodness they are addictive...

Anyway back to the polish! This is 2 super-smooth layers with a slick of MegaShine top coat for the speed drying effect, but I managed to get a nice fat bubble in my top coat on my middle finger there.. Oops. This is a super polish. I wish that more polishes had the instant gratification of opaqueness in 2 coats and super gloss...

Latest NOTDs

Wow! All I can say about my latest green love! This is from the s/s 2010 collection from Mavala called "Swinging Colours". This is 2 coats with a slick of Megashine - it needs it as the polish in itself isn't very shiny. But it glows green almost like "Moonpool"! :) Excellent for £3.95!

Due to being busy lately I never posted Mon+Tues mani so here it is! I felt like something bright on Sunday night, so I settled for the bright magenta creme! This photos is very weird, it's like my camera can't capture the purply-pink of this polish :(

This is 2 perfect coats of "Swizzles" with a slick of Megashine. Yes I am back on the Megashine topcoat, as I finally found my lost bottle! I have to say that I was incredibly disappointed to wake up after doing my "Wagon Trail" manicure to find dents and sheet marks on it the next morning. What a rip off. Don't buy the massively overpriced Nailshine Miracle. The only miracle is how they get away with selling it for £9.45 when it doesn't deliver on ANY of it's promises...

NOTD: Mavala "Gstaad"

Spent all day making my home look Christmassy :) While watching "Mega Shark vs. Giant Ocotopus", I painted today's NOTD. It's bubbly in places; this polish dries slowly and hence when you slap on MegaShine speed-dry top coat, it traps the evaporation solvents and you get bubbles... This is the second time I've done this with this polish. You'd think I'd learn. But no. I just can't wait for things to dry, even during such a riveting movie as "Mega Shar vs. Giant Octopus".. :)

This is 3 coats, you can see some of the bubbling on my middle finger. Ooops. Oh well :) I love the pale pink frost in this. Anyway, it's bed time!

Nail-Of-The-Day #2

This is one of my favourite nail combos - 2 coats of OPI "Purple with a purpose" with a coat of Mavala "Capella". Its one of those hard to photograph polishes with big flaky glitter. It moves from purple to pink through to a metallic beetle green, it's very pretty :)
