MNY in the house!

When I read at Lipglossbitch that Maybelline New York with it's cute Nylon-like packaging was coming to Sweden, the cynic in me figured it was probably going to be a lot more expensive than it's supposed to be. That's what you get for living in Europe, everything that might be considered budget-friendly on one side of the pond gets overpriced on this side. So, when I heard that MNY was going to try and stick close to the original price-settings, I figured it was wishful thinking.

While I may be a cynic, there's still hope in my heart so I went to look for MNY in some of the stores where it was supposed to be sold and imagine, the prices were much like those at HM. Affordable color to the people, yeah!

While the nailpolish-range wasn't anything spectacular, there was still enough for me to make it hard narrowing it down to 3 bottles. Hadn't I been on a very tight-budget, I'd easily walked away with 6 or 7 polishes. A 7ml polish was 29.50:- ($4.30) which can be compared to Depend's polish which is 25:- for 5ml ($3.65).
There was also a moment where I wanted to buy a piece of the display, but that's just me - hooked on good design/kitsch.

NOTD: Maybelline "Electric Apple"

So I am still on a green high, and moving into my summer block colours. I love the nudes and pastels but somehow I start craving bright Crayola colours as we move into summer. Today I found a new top in Next - one of those "How pissed off will I be if I don't buy this and spend the rest of my life yearning for" tops. It's just, so me. I will wear this with a black maxidress tomorrow for work.

I obviously had to find a colour in my stash to match the bright bobbles on my top. And I found Maybelline Express Finish "Electric Apple". This is some years old and discontinued as far as I know. I *love* this polish. It's one of my fave greens albeit a very acid green.

This is 3 coats and Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat. You could get away with 2 coats but it doesn't pop that intense lime colour until you do 3. Also you may find you need to be extra careful to avoid brush strokes. Formula is probably an old non-3-free and it's very lovely... Plz excuse my peeling nail...

Anyway I am off to read my new Instyle magazine and have one of the last Creme-Eggs of the year!

NOTD and weekend stuff!

So been a bit busy lately - its finally spring time and hence I am trying to be outside more. I got myself a pair of Skechers Shape-Ups too - trying to get back in hillwalking shape now after my foot is fixed and the weather is brightening up!

Anyway my NOTD for Friday was Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds "Glowing Glimmer", a lovely coral glass-fleck polish! This is 2 coats over Rimmel "Coralicious", as "Glowing Glimmer" is very sheer.

On Saturday we drove to Macduff Marine Aquarium and checked out my fave fish lumpsuckers and these guys - cod. The North Sea cod may be a thing of the past soon - as a marine biologist by degree, I seriously fear that these photos will be the only thing we have left of them...

Small Maybelline Haul + Paypal

Hello there! ^^
Just wanna share some of my Maybelline haul that I purchased recently..
This is the Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extention Mascara, and it's pink!
I think I bought so many makeup/beauty products, just because they're pink! hehe.. ^^
Full review later on, OK?? ^^ And this one below is the Maybelline Volum Express Mascara, yes, I bought 2 mascaras at the same time, hehe..
This Volum Express Mascara is for my mom, although I can test it out a bit, hahaha.. ^^

I bought this lovely lipstick! ^^ Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Cranberry Pink..
I love the packaging, it's deep red!

This is what it looks like when I test it out on my lips.. It's really moisturizing and not heavy.. perfect for going to college look!

Me and my bro, posing together! Same chubby cheeks, hehe..
I love how the lipstick turns out on my lips! ^^

But, by the way..
I'm so not in a good mood right now.. (sigh)
Recently, I just made a Paypal account, but I don't know what went wrong, but I can't make any transaction!! It's said that the access to my acc is being limited.. =( But I can't see any view limits section..
I have emailed the Paypal, and they replied: there's nothing wrong with my acc.. I can still send/receive money..
But I still can't send money!! (Ezzie, if you're reading this.. I'm so so sorry..)
Hmmm.... I don't know what to do??? This is the reason why for the last few days I didn't update my blog, I've been so busy trying to find the solution..
Is there anyone here that can help me??
Please, give your comment right here on this blog or you can email / tweet me..

Thank you so much for your support everyone!! ^^

NOTD: Maybelline "Banana Puddin' "

I always love looking at this colour in the bottle. I am hoping I can get this exact colour made up in Dulux paint so I can paint my new bedroom in it :)

I am not sure that "Banana Puddin' " works with my skintone, and it is still streaky after 3 coats like here. But I still love this polish!

This is a HTF (hard to find) colour and I feel grateful to own it :) I need to do an pedicure with this colour at some point...

Please excuse my incredibly dry and scaly cuticles. I have severe dermatitis on my hands at the moment and that includes the cuticles and fingers :(

Today's Mailbag - Maybelline "93 Electric Apple"

As I returned to work today after my time off sick at the start of the week, I had a nice harvest of parcels waiting for me at my desk. All but one was Christmas presents since I have decided I hate the high street rush at this time of year and will never go Christmas shopping in town ever again, I now buy every present online. Anyway, I digress. One parcel had a quite rare and discontinued Maybelline polish called "Electric Apple". In the eBay post it looked sort of lime green, but its better than that in real life :) It is a shimmer polish with the colour of a nice and tart Granny Smith apple. I like this! I forgot my memory stick at home so you won't see my NOTD til tonight - it's the awesome sparkletastic pink L'Oreal polish 303, rare and discontinued. If someone can suggest dupes for it let me know :)

An update on the Lancome Le Magnetique - my friend managed to score a bottle for me too, so I will soon be able to sit at my table, painting my nails with it and saying "My preciousss" like a crazy lady :)

LOTD - Maybelline Superstay PowerGloss "Radiant Ruby #550"

The lips of the day is here! :D I am into my red lips at the moment, so I will start to post some LOTD or Lips Of The Day here. First out is the new lip gloss combo from Maybelline Superstay PowerGloss. I chose a shade of red that is quite flat and boring in the tube but really comes to life on the lips. And it's not supershimmery or glittery so you look like you've been eating Christmas tree baubles.. At first I was a bit disappointed about the colour as you see on my lips here:

I basically dotted it on and worked it into the lip. Don't think that was very successful, as the colour was very light. But look at that gorgeous gloss! The next day I applied it as it was supposed to be applied; gloop it on! Then slick the gloss extender on. Yowser! I like :) Red glossy goodness but not porn star red! So technically, you could go more or less colourful by working it into the lip before you put the gloss extender on.

It lasted 1 grande latte, 1 yogurt, 2 slices of buttered toast, 1 bag of carrot sticks and houmous and a cinnamon bun. That is a grand total of nice, glossy lips even past 3 o'clock in the afternoon! It takes a lot to impress me with lippy. I am not usually a lips person (I hate when my hair gets stuck to it). But wow. I am impressed! This baby gets 5 of 5 stars for colour, wear and wow-factor :)

I found this video on youTube, shows you how is supposed to go on - real thick, then gloop on the gloss :)
