French, charming, fit and attractive Age Warrior Mireille Guiliano is a walking advertisement for her book, French Women Don't Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure.
Since she is also the CEO of champagne company Veuve Cliquot, she probably didn’t write the book solely for the money. Rather she has information she truly believes in and wants to share. That adds a certain air of credibility for me. Hers is an interesting story.
As a teen, Mireille was sent to school in America. She returned home 20 pounds heavier and blames the weight gain on larger portions and too many sweets. This experience gave her a heightened awareness of how French women typically eat. Gradually the excess weight came off and has stayed off.
Yet Mireille claims to eat and enjoy whatever she wants. In her book she shares how you can enjoy every food you desire in balance, never worry about calories, never leave the table feeling guilty and “never [again] be tempted by the mega-portions that plague Americans”.
“The motivation is not only losing weight, but the heightened pleasure when eating becomes an optimal experience and not a mindless excess.”
If you’re tired of restrictive and boring eating plans, this book may be the inspiration to truly change the way you look at food. Many of the concepts are similar to those found in the Mediterranean and Sonoma Lifestyle, which I’ve recommended to you many times.
I would skip the two-day leek soup fast intended to jump-start you, but it’s only two days so certainly won’t do any harm.
