Review of Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Collection

If you’re in a rush to pick up some eye makeup or are among The Makeup Color-Challenged who have difficulty picking cosmetic colors for yourself, you’ll really like Cover Girl’s new Exact Eyelights Collection. All you need to do is select the package designed to complement your eye color.

I bought the Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Waterproof Mascara and Eye-Brightening Eyeliner for blue eyes (though my eyes are really blue-gray – Cover Girl, are you listening?).

The shade for blue eyes is called Black Sapphire. It has just the tiniest hint of blue. In fact the first time I put it on, it’s so subtle that I thought perhaps the package was mis-marked.

Looking at the other color choices made me wish I had green or hazel eyes. The Black Ruby for green eyes and Black Gold for hazel are really beautiful and I can easily see how they would complement those color eyes perfectly.

What literally shines about all of the Eye Brightening mascaras is the little flecks of mica in the formula. I love that look! It really does brighten the eyes.

What also shines (figuratively) about Eye Brightening mascaras is the applicator brush. The plastic bristles are short (which I usually don’t care for) but the wand tip is so soft that it flexes to fit the contour of your lash line without depositing any mascara on your face.

I give the mascara two thumbs up – well maybe a thumb and three-quarters.
