Review of True Radiance Lineless Eye Cream with Regu®-Age

I was quite intrigued with Regu®-Age, one of the active ingredients contained in NewPeptin Eye Contour Cream which Aylin asked me to review last week.

I couldn’t really review NewPeptin because their website doesn’t provide complete ingredient lists. In addition, New Peptin is available only in Europe. So I went looking for other Regu®-Age anti-aging eye creams that do provide full ingredient lists and are more widely available.

The best Regu®-Age eye product I found is True Radiance Lineless Eye Cream. Its ingredient list follows.

Ingredients: Water, Regu-age, Syncoll, Pepha-tight, DMAE, Trivalen, Glycerin, Safflower seed oil, Propylene glycol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Ceteareth-20, Cetearyl alcohol, Stearic acid, Fragrance, Myristyl Myristate, Carbomer, Dimethicone, Triethanolamine, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Tetrasodium EDTA

This product has topical ingredients shown to be effective in treating periorbital fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles and eye bags. Read about clinical study results for Regu®-Age in last week’s post.

Syn-Coll is the tradename for Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, a collagen-stimulating peptide. You can read about in my Cosmeceutical Peptide Glossary.

Pepha®-Tight is an algae-based skin tightener which provides immediate temporary tightening of the skin and protects against UV damage. With extended use, in vitro tests carried out by the developer Pentapharm, have demonstrated significant collagen stimulus. Unfortunately, the graphs included in their study report did not indicate the timeframe for the 168% increase in production of collagen 1.

I should note that I can’t find anything in my sources about “Trivalen” (which is listed as one of the actives in this formula). I suspect that there is a typo or word missing. My guess is the ingredient is actually Trivalent Xanthan Gum which would give the cream a gel consistency.
