How to Find Your Willpower

Gaiam.com, Inc

If you don’t think you have the willpower to make a much desired change, think again. Perhaps your self esteem just needs a good boost.

Here’s an easy way to rebuild your willpower. Do something totally unrelated to your desired goal. Are you saying, “Huh?!” Stay with me here.

Make one easy positive change in your life, like limiting your Facebook or e-mail time. Once you start to feel the benefit and wonder why you didn't think of doing it long ago, you won't want to slide back.

That feeling of having accomplished something good for you gives you a sense of control which can carry into other areas of your life. Choose a second thing to improve your life and do it – one thing at a time.

After a couple of easy improvements, you'll find you have the willpower to make other changes, perhaps even the one that has been eluding you for so long.

Can you think of one small thing you’d like to do to lower your stress level, gain more control over your life and feel better about yourself? Just one little thing. Share it with us by leaving a comment below.
