Progress Report on Dark Eye Circle Treatments

[Aylin’s Letter appeared yesterday.]

Hi Aylin,

Thank you for the full ingredient list for NewPeptin Eye Contour Cream. While I had raved about the active ingredients mentioned in NewPeptin advertising, I added that I couldn’t really review the product until I could see where the actives appear in the ingredient list.

I agree with you that, “the fact that these peptides and antioxidants are towards the end of the list makes one think that there may not be sufficient amounts … for this product to be as effective as one would have hoped”.

It’s a looong list (55) and has a lot of nice ingredients. Hyaluronic Acid (most powerful moisturizer available), Acetyl Hexapapetide-3 (Botox-mimicking peptide) are both high on the list, as are more good antioxidants and a few temporary skin tighteners.

But, as you noted, the compounds designed to seriously address dark eye circles (Eyeliss) and crow’s feet (Dermaxyl and Matrixyl) are waaay down the list and would have little benefit.

Dermaxyl (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4) is #47 (of 55) and the components of Matrixyl (Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4) are ingredients #46 and 47. The ingredients of Eyeliss (Dipeptide-2 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7), the compound most exciting for the treatment of dark eye circles, are # 45 and 46.

While it still looks like a very good eye cream, the small amounts of the advertised actives are disappointing.

Regards,
Jean
