UNT Age Erase Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream Review

The UNT website calls Age Erase Eye “An age-reversing combination of tripeptide and tetrapeptide.” Elsewhere UNT says Age Erase Eye contains Matrixyl 3000, Matrixyl, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 and Hyaluronic Acid.

Review of Age Erase Eye Ingredients
Here’s the ingredient list courtesy of Maria.

Age Erase Eye Cream Ingredients: Water, Glycerine, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, Palmitoyl Lys-Thr-Thr-Lys-Ser, Palmitoyl Gly-His-Lys, Palmitoyl- Gly-Gin-Pro-Arg, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate, Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate.

Do you notice how the UNT description in the first paragraph doesn’t quite match up with the ingredient list very well? I sure do.

Can you find the tripeptide in the ingredient list? It’s Palmitoyl Gly-His-Lys. “Palmitoyl Gly-His-Lys” should be written either Palmitoyl Gly-His-Lys-OH or Palmitoyl-GHK. Other acceptable synonyms are PAL-GHK, Palmitoyl Tripeptide and Palmitoyl Oligopeptide.

How about the tetrapeptide – can you find that? It’s Palmitoyl Lys-Thr-Thr-Lys-Ser which is the same as PAL-KTTKS or Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 and has the trade name Matrixyl.

Can you find the Matrixyl 3000? Matrixyl 3000 = Matrixyl + Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. So mentioning Matrixyl as well as Matrixyl 3000 is redundant. Are you wondering, “Then where’s the Tetrapeptide-7?” I bet you’re catching onto the game. It must be the Palmitoyl- Gly-Gin-Pro-Arg. Correcto!

Here’s an easy one: can you find the Hyaluronic Acid? I gave you a clue, didn’t I? It must be Sodium Hyaluronate. Bingo!

I find this confusion of terms a bit annoying. I’ve noticed several instances of it in the various UNT ingredient lists. Are the UNT chemists confused or are the marketing people trying to make it appear that UNT products contain more unique peptides than they really do?

Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, tomorrow I’ll tell you what I think of the product itself: UNT Age Erase Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream.
