Hi,
I just read this article, Amino Polypeptide Creams, and I was wondering if there are any new (less expensive!) polypeptide products on the market.
Thanks!
Andrea
=============================================
Hi Andrea,
The article you cited specifically reported clinical trial results for just two anti-aging peptides:
• Matrixyl (a.k.a. Pal-KTTKS, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide or Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4) which is found in both StriVectin-SD and in DDF Wrinkle Relax
• Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 which is found in DDF Wrinkle Relax.
Matrixyl is one of the best known collagen stimulating peptides. Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is the best known Botox-mimicking peptide.
As far as anti-aging peptides go, DDF Wrinkle Relax also contains Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide 7 (firming peptide). So in DDF Wrinkle Relax you’re getting a lot more (anti-aging peptide) “bang for your buck”. However it’s quite pricey at $115 an ounce.
StriVectin-SD contains only one anti-aging peptide (as Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 and Palmitoyl Oligopeptide – which are both INCI names for Matrixyl). On a per ounce basis, StriVectin-SD is one the best peptide bargains around at $22.50 an ounce (on sale right now for $18 an ounce at Drugstore.com); however you have to shell out for a six-month supply that costs from $108 to $135.
So I set the challenge to find peptide-packed creams or serums that can be bought in a one to two-ounce size for $30 an ounce or less.
I’ll post my Affordable Anti-Aging Peptide-Packed Skin Products finds tomorrow.
