Another Wake-up Call to Those Facing Early Disability or Death

I issued a wake-up call to Boomers after reading that they were Doomed to Early Disability. So, in all fairness, I must pass this information on to the generations which follow the Baby Boomers.

Recently WebMD predicted that Baby Boomers May Outlive Their Kids.

Are you seeing a trend here? Baby Boomers are warned they can expect to die younger than their parents. Now Gen X-ers and their kids are being warned they could die even younger than their parents.

What do we have here, after decades of an increasing lifespan in first world countries? Are we looking at a reversal in that trend? Is this due to unavailability of medical care? Is it due to an increase in pollution?

No. No. And no.

Once again, the cause for this dire prediction is poor lifestyle choices. Remember I keep telling you that, while part of how we age is totally beyond our control, much of it is not.

The part that is within our control is a matter of the lifestyle choices we make.

To quote WebMD, “A new study shows that a generational shift in obesity rates is setting the younger generation up for shorter life and poorer health in comparison to their parents … Research indicates that higher numbers of young and middle-age American adults are becoming obese at younger and younger ages … which suggests that the impact for chronic disease and life expectancy may be worse than previously thought.”

In a way, I feel like I’m “preaching to the choir”. The readers of Ageless Beauty (ranging from their early 30s to 90+) tend to be people who take care of their bodies. Please keep doing so. Be a role model. Set an example.
