[This Hydroxatone Series began Wednesday.]I’m really at a loss as to how to review this product. Why? Because my search for ingredient lists led to three different product presentations and two different ingredient lists. Are some sites selling out-of-date versions?
To make sure I was looking at products from the same company, I researched who makes the Celtrixa stretch mark products.
Hydroxatone, LLC, is owned by Urban Nutrition, LLC, which lists its address as 302A West 12th St, #276 New York, NY 10014.
Urban Nutrition lists its product lines as:
• Find Longevity Now
• Find Serenity Now
• Goodbye Hangovers
• Orexis
• Hydroleyes
• OsteoEase
• Miracle Burn Cream
• My Daily Dose
• Miracle Burn
• Orexia
• Venacura
• CholesterClear
• ExcellNow
• Bellaplex
• Besoplex
• Hydroxatone
• Omega 3
It seems to me that the green Celtrixa bottle is so similar to the blue one now shown on large retail beauty sites like SkinStore and Ulta.com, that it must be the same product, though perhaps a previous presentation or even older formulation.
The Celtrixa found at Celtrixa.com with a totally different presentation (white pump bottle) but similar logo is made by another of Urban Nutrition’s companies, ExcellNow. The formula may be the same, but in any event, I am only attempting to review the Hydroxatone Celtrixa (sold in the blue bottle) here.
I couldn’t find the ingredient list on the Hydroxatone site, so I chose to use the one listed at SkinStore.com, which I consider to be a credible source.
This is a lotion, not a cream, and therefore has a relatively high water content. That being the case, you would want to see the most powerful anti-aging ingredients very high up in the ingredient list.
Unfortunately, the Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate – most powerful moisturizer available) is ingredient #14 out of 37 and the only cosmeceutical peptide, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, is smack dab in the middle (#19). That’s a shame because Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 is a collagen stimulating peptide which is especially effective in repairing stretch marks.
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, along with Water, Glycerin, Panthenol and Horehound Extract (astringent), comprise Regu®-Stretch. Regu®-Stretch was created by CenterChem to protect “the extra cellular matrix from tissue degradation and help repair stretch marks by stimulating the synthesis of collagen.”
The nicest thing about Celtrixa is the long list of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant botanicals: Grape Seed, Green Tea Extract, Ginseng, Chamomile, Bearberry, Coneflower and Licorice Extracts.
