How to Compare Home Use LED Devices

Baby Quasar[These tips on How to Compare Home Use LED Devices started yesterday.]

Joules
NASA research showed that, at 4 joules per square centimeter, DNA synthesis in fibroblasts and muscle cells could be quintupled. Professional LED devices use powers between 20 and 50 joueles. Home use LED devices use energy levels closer to the NASA research range.

The Baby Quasar delivers light energy at 2.6 joueles.

I couldn’t find specs on the LightStim power (joules), but judging from the LightStim treatment protocols, LightStim appears to use less powerful technology.

Treatment Times
The Baby Quasar directions say to treat the face and neck twice a week for 28 minutes or about an hour a week.

LightStim treatment time is up to five hours a week.

LightStim has three treatment routines and the manual instructs you to try treatment method 1 (daily) for several weeks. If you see no improvement, try method 2 (every two or three days). If still no improvement, try method 3 (once a week) after consulting the company “for further instruction”.

You are to hold the LightStim wand against the skin for two to three minutes, then move to the next area for two to three minutes. Continue until you have treated the entire face and upper neck/chin.

The LightStim doesn’t have a timer to indicate when to move the wand to the next treatment area. When you’re treating your entire face and neck area, this is pretty inconvenient. I use my Baby Quasar while relaxing and watching TV. I hardly have to think about the treatment process.

Hope this helps. You’re welcome.
