Both CVS and Target offer products which they say “compare to Olay® Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum”. I reviewed the original Olay formula Saturday. Here’s the 411 on the drugstore finds.
Target Eye Lifting Serum
The Target formula is almost identical to Olay’s except that it has Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (lifting peptide) where Olay lists the collagen stimulating peptide Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4. The Target formula contains Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 (a.k.a Palmitoyl Oligopeptide) as well, but not in a high enough concentration to have any effect.
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Water, Glycerin, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Dimethicone, Niacinamide, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Tocopheryl Acetate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativa (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Allantoin, Petrolatum, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Sucrose Polycottonseedate, Bis PEG/PPG 14/14 Dimethicone, Benzyl Alcohol, PEG 10 Dimethicone, PEG 100 Stearate, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Disodium EDTA, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides
CVS Eye Lifting Serum
CVS has packed extra punch into their formula. Where Olay and Target have just one cosmeceutical peptide high in the ingredient list, CVS has a one-two punch of Palmitoyl Oligopeptide immediately followed by PalmitoylTetrapeptide-4. So with the CVS eye lifting serum, you get both a collagen stimulating and a lifting cosmeceutical peptide in sufficient concentration.
Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, C30-45 Alkyl Cetearyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Niacinamide Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Stearyl Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3, Disodium Lauriminodipropionate Tocopheryl Phosphate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Allantoin, Petrolatum, Cetyl Ricinoleate, PEG-14 Dimethicone, Vinyl Trimethylsiloxysilicate Crosspolymer, Cetearyl Glucoside, Bis-PEG/PPG-14/14 Dimethicone, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Sodium Acrylates, Carbomer, Behenyl Alcohol, Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, MICA, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide.
All three versions of eye serum - Olay, Target and CVS - contain equivalent amounts of Niacinamide, the other active anti-aging ingredient.
