Why Many of Us Still Like Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum

Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating SerumOlay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum earned a place in Consumer Reports study of nine anti-wrinkle serums. CR had previously selected Olay as the top anti-aging skin care line. This was the least expensive product tested by CR ($13 an ounce) and the only one under $20 an ounce.

Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum was selected by the Beauty Editors of Allure magazine as the Best Serum in their 2009 Best of Beauty list. Regenerist Regenerating Serum currently has a place on the Ageless Beauty Top Ten Affordable Anti-Aging Skin Care Product list. It is selected as one of Paula’s Picks by Cosmetics Cop Paula Begoun.

Clearly a lot of knowledgeable people like Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum. Why didn’t it shine in the CR anti-wrinkle serum test? It’s hard to say; but it was deemed to have only Average Performance.

It would be interesting to know a bit more about the 67 women and 12 men aged 40 to 65 who participated in the six week test, as well as more about the “trained sensory panelists” who analyzed the [before and after] photos and scored each one on the depth of any visible facial wrinkles.”

It made me wonder why the wrinkles were “scored” rather than actually measured. Perhaps the outside lab which did the testing doesn’t have sophisticated facial analysis equipment and computer models like PRIMOS®, which is a technique of computerizing topographical maps of the skin so that the hills and valleys can be mathematically measured and compared.

The CR study was all based on perception rather than objective measures, just like many of the product ads that tell us very little about actual product performance.

Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum contains high concentrations of Niacinimide and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4. Read about the skin anti-aging benefits of these ingredients and you’ll understand why many experts still like Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum.
