It’s now two weeks since my nose job. The bandages are off and I don’t need a bag over my head anymore. Lol. I’m not yet ready for my close-up though. I use a pretty heavy concealer and my Clinique Even Better high coverage foundation when I go out.
The bruises are fading – slowly but surely. Perhaps in another week, I can share an after photo or two. If you look closely at the thumbnail photo in the right column, you can see how crooked my nose was. [I know, it’s a very small photo; but you can see if you look closely.]
5 Things I’ve Learned from My Nose Job:
1. My Baby Quasar has been a godsend to speed the bruises on their way. As soon as I felt up to it, I started treating the bruises every day with my BQ.
2. Arnica (2 pills a day) is also good for the bruising (and was doctor-approved).
3. My surgeon said to apply a very high SPF lotion every day to prevent the bruises from becoming semi-permanent (PIH).
• He gave me a sample of 50+ SPF Avène broad spectrum sunscreen.
• I switched to Olay Regenerist 50 SPF broad spectrum UV Defense Regenerating Lotion because the Avène “pilled” when I tried to put foundation on.
4. Following doctor’s orders is generally a good thing. Two allergy pills a day was making me soooo tired that I tried to back down to one a day. Big mistake – my nose swelled up like a clown’s.
5. One can actually get accustomed to sleeping at a 45 degree incline. I found that by turning my Memory Foam Neck Support Pillow sideways and propping it on another pillow, I could not only get the 45 degree angle the doctor ordered but also learned that resting my head in the channel kept me face-up all night. We all know that is a good thing to avoid those face creases that last longer and longer into the day as our skin ages, right?
