Hello –
I hope you can help me. I am covered in ugly moles on my body. I can cover up my back but chest looks bad. Is there any product to get rid of the moles on my chest? It's a large area.

Hi Patsy,
Yes, there are OTC products to remove moles. But before you even think about using one, please have your moles evaluated by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
Your doctor may suggest a regular monitoring program and recommend removal of any suspicious moles. Medical removal is usually done by freezing or cutting out the mole. Some types of moles can be removed by lasers. There is always a risk of scarring but, if the mole does turn out to be malignant, a scar seems a small price to pay.
Once you get an all-clear that your moles are benign, ask the doctor if they are the type that would respond well to an OTC mole removal cream.
OTC mole removal products are not 100% effective. Occasionally, they don’t remove a mole or cause scarring and discoloration. Some moles grow back because their roots go deep into the dermis beyond the reach of an OTC cream. If a mole is malignant, using an OTC removal cream can delay diagnosis and treatment.
I can’t stress enough that an OTC mole removal product should only be used on common benign moles. Be sure to follow application directions to the letter. All that said, the best selling OTC mole removal product is Dermatend. A 0.17-ounce tube of Dermatend contains enough cream to remove about four moles.
