[This review of two L’Oreal Studio Secrets products started Tuesday.]
L’Oreal introduced three versions of Studio Secrets Step No. 2 Color Correcting Primers:
• Anti-redness to neutralize redness;
• Anti-dull skin for light complexions; and
• Anti-dull skin for medium to dark complexions.
I’ve tried the Anti-dull Skin Primer for light complexions. While I’m not as wild about Step No. 2 as I am about Step No. 1, the Perfecting Base, this is quite nice. If your skin needs a brightening boost, you may like the Anti-dull Primer.
Pump a very small amount into your hand. Then use a fingertip to apply little dots to forehead, nose, cheek and chin – wherever you want a brightening effect. Blend outward.
Funny thing about the brightening primer – if you test the Anti-dull Primer on your arm, you can actually see the shimmery particles of mother-of-pearl.
I cannot, for the life of me, see the glittery specks on my face – even in my 8xs magnifying mirror. I just see a nice natural glow. So if you don’t need much foundation coverage for uneven skin tone, you may be able to go foundation-free after brightening your face with this primer.
BTW, though L’Oreal named the Perfecting Base “Step No. 1” and the Primers “Step No.2”, you still need your usual morning facial (pre-makeup) routine. For me that means:
1. Cleanse and pat dry.
2. Wipe with Kathy Ireland Essential Mineral Toner.
3. Apply 30 SPF or higher moisturizer (I currently use Olay Regenerist 50 SPF Regenerating Lotion) and let it soak in.
4. Spread on L’Oreal Studio Secrets Step No. 1 Perfecting Base.
5. Dot and blend L’Oreal Studio Secrets Step No. 2 Anti-Dull Primer.
6. Apply Clinique Even Better Foundation, etc., etc. …
… making L’Oreal Studio Secrets Step No. 1 my step No. 4.
