Educated Consumer Designs Own Anti-Aging Program: Wrap Up

[This conversation with Maria started Monday. We looked at her a.m. and p.m. routines for her 30-something combination skin. Today - Maria’s conclusion and my feedback.]

For daily cleansing I either use
Swisa Beauty Sensation Deep Cleansing Mud Gel or Lavera Natural Cosmetics Young Faces Cleansing Gel, followed by UNT Bright C Perfect Toner (day) and UNT Clearegen AHA/BHA Toner (night).

I am thinking to add
Osmotics Cosmeceuticals Blue Copper 5 Face Lifting Serum to my skincare regimen for an extra tightness/firmness.

Thank you for your feedback.

Have a nice day and best regards,

Maria

Prototype #37-CHi Maria,

It’s so nice to hear from you again. You’ve given me a lot to digest – as usual – lol.

You say you have combination skin, yet you’re using a ton of AHA/BHA products plus Retinol. Is your skin combination leaning toward oily? Or could you be exfoliating too much?

Some dermatologists believe that over-exfoliating actually ages the skin. That might also explain some of your skin sensitivity.

In your morning routine, you list sun protection as the last step before your makeup. Actually when you’re using a chemical sunscreen like Mexoryl (as opposed to a sunblock like Titanium Dioxide), sun protection should be the first step in your routine.

Apply chemical sunscreen first and allow it to soak in. Any serums would come next since they also need to soak in. Finally would be your skin barrier protection products like moisturizers and makeup primers.

Since most Age Warriors tend to have dry to very dry skin, I’ve felt that Ageless Beauty wasn’t serving those who still have oily skin very well. Thank you for helping to fill the gap with your excellent choices!

Your regimen, while too complicated for most women, sounds like it’s working well for you but might benefit from my two minor suggestions. Can’t argue with success!

I do agree that you should use up the rest of your expensive Guerlain face and eye creams and then switch to ones with more active anti-aging ingredients.

I’ve given very positive reviews to several of the lines or products in your routine:

RéVive;
Hydrolyze;
Osmotics Blue Copper products; and
UNT product line.

[Makes me wonder if you found any of them here ;-)]

I was really impressed with the ingredient list for
Prototype #37-C 99% Peptide Concentrate and your comment that it “gets rid of wrinkles quite visibly and fast”.

I’m intrigued and will review several of your picks A.S.A.P., in addition to Prototype #37-C:

NIA24 Skin Strengthening Complex;
Swisa Beauty Sensation products; and
Lavera Natural Cosmetics products

Have you thought of starting your own website? You do very thorough research and find some wonderful products. I realize you already "have a life", but perhaps you'd like to keep that thought in the back of your mind.

Best regards,
Jean
