Exfoliating plus Lightening Agents Deliver a One-Two Punch to Age Spots

Hi Jean,

I was thinking of getting my mum to incorporate a Retinol in her night routine as she has sun spots … and could really use something to even out her skin tone.

I thought a Retinol based product (either MD Formulations Illuminating Serum or Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid 10% Hydrating Gel, which also contains could help with this and also improve the depth of the 1 1 lines between her eye brows and deep wrinkles on her forehead.

But then I read a consumer comment stating that her dermatologist indicated you don’t need a Retinol product if using PTR Un-Wrinkle Night as this already has sufficient amounts.

PTR appears to be best in its class so I do lean towards his products. Should she add the PTR Glycolic Acid with Retinol gel to her night routine, or should she go for something else, or not use one at all?

Hi Aylin,

It is correct that PTR Un-Wrinkle Night contains a fair concentration of Retinol. However, in an earlier note you mentioned that your mum has been using PTR Peel Pads and will stop those when they run out soon.

If she is not experiencing redness, breakouts or irritation from her current exfoliating routine, she’ll want to replace the pads with another exfoliating treatment.
