Good Housekeeping Conducted Impressive Tests to Pick Best Anti-Aging Products

Before announcing its first annual anti-aging product awards, the Good Housekeeping Research Institute (GHRI):

• Spent 18 months;
• Testing 90 products;
• On 820 women aged 35 to 85 years;
• Conducted more than 3,000 lab tests with state of the art equipment like the

1. Visia Complexion Analyzer,
2. Cutometer,
3. Chroma Meter and
4. Corneometer;

• Took more than 5,000 before and after pictures; and
• Tallied 1,800 questionnaires.

Wow!

To select products for testing, the Institute asked companies known for their anti-aging skin care line(s) to submit lists of their best-performing products in 12 categories.

Then, a team of anti-aging experts reviewed the product ingredient lists and selected the products most likely to actually work at slowing and reversing the visible signs of skin aging.

To me, that last step is what really sets this study apart. The ingredient list is always the first thing I look at when asked to review a skin care product or when selecting products I want to buy and test myself.

So I expected to find some of my favorites in the GHRI awards list. Yup, the best eye cream award went to Olay Pro-X Eye Restoration Complex. Peter Thomas Roth Firmx Growth Factor Extreme Neuropeptide Serum was selected the best facial firmer while RoC Multi Correxion Tone Perfecting Treatment got the nod for best age spot fader.
