Would you review Système 41 Skin Care Essentials? I am wondering if they are any good.
=============================================
Hi Carla,
I’m not opposed to skin care products that claim to be 100% all natural, though I do believe they lack some very effective and safe ingredients. Further, I don’t believe natural ingredients are necessarily better or safer than synthetics.
For more, read my article Are Natural Ingredients Better? as well as what “Cosmetics Cop” Paula Begoun has to say on Natural Ingredients.
However I am offended by sites that use scare tactics to sell their products, so I won’t be purchasing Système 41 Skin Care Essentials products for testing.
All that said, Système 41 Skin Care Essentials product development team is headed up by naturopath and acupuncturist Dr. Janet Zand, O.M.D., L.Ac.
Dr. Zand has authored one book, Herbal Formulas, and co-authored several others in collaboration with medical doctors and pharmacists.
I took a look at Système 41 Nourishing Day Crème. It is antioxidant rich and contains no known skin irritants. It contains skin identical ingredients (Shea Butter, Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid itself and its salt form, Sodium Hyaluronate) to hydrate and provide support to the skin’s intercellular matrix as nature intended (at least in young skin).
There is no stated SPF in Système 41 Nourishing Day Crème. Rather the cream relies on “Grape Stem Cell technology” to protect the skin from sun exposure.
Grape Seed Extract is a powerful antioxidant. In vitro studies indicate that it has cancer protective properties and promotes synthesis of healthy collagen and elastin resulting in healthier more youthful skin.
I would still add broad spectrum sun protection if I were to use this day cream.
