[This review started yesterday.]
L’Oreal Collagen Micro-Pulse Eye Cream has a nice consistency due to its Dimethicone and Mineral Oil base.
It has a high concentration of Glycerin which is a skin identical ingredient naturally abundant in younger skin. Topical application of Glycerin to depleted dry skin hydrates and provides support to the skin’s intercellular matrix.
I’m puzzled that the next ingredient after this nice hydrating base is Denatured Alcohol, a drying form of alcohol.
There are a few antioxidants (Caffeine, Alfalfa Extract and Tocopheryl Acetate).
The rest of the formula is thickeners, emollients, stabilizers, and non-paraben preservatives ... with one exception.
L’Oreal Collagen Micro-PulseEye Cream has all the components of Haloxyl, which was developed by Sederma to treat dark eye circles: Palmitoyl Oligopeptide (collagen stimulating peptide) and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (anti-sag peptide) in addition to (non-peptide ingredients) Chrysin and Hydroxysuccinimide. But as you can see in the ingredient list below, this excellent anti-aging compound appears at the very bottom of the ingredient list.
Because of the inclusion of drying alcohol and such small amounts of important ingredients, I rate this product just fair.
Ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, Mineral Oil, Glycerin, Denatured Alcohol, Nylon-66, Myristyl Myristate, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate, PEG-20 Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Caffeine, Medicago Sativa Extract (Alfalfa Extract), Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Ammonium Polyacryldimethyltauramide, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Soluble Collagen, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, Chrysin, Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol
