Spa Splurge at Sea

St. Martin
We’re cruising this week. It’s sooo relaxing …

I had the most glorious massage and facial at the ship’s Bliss Spa-at-Sea. Bliss spas are known for their “grooming with a grin” approach – not to mention legendary brownies (I abstained) and the rhythm and blues background music – that originated at their New York “flagship” spa.

How wonderful that Bliss Spas have gone to sea!

My masseuse/aesthetician, Patricia, was very knowledgeable and experienced. What a treat it was to be so pampered and to have an expert give me advice on my skin concerns for a change. Sort of a busman’s holiday, since I’m usually the one sitting in the driver’s seat and doling out skin care advice.

I had already told Patricia that I have very dry skin; but when she saw my bare back she couldn’t help but proclaim, “You have extremely dry skin!” She treated me to an extra-deep hydrating treatment: body brushing to sweep away dead cells and stimulate blood flow; deep massage with a few different warmed oils; finishing with Bliss Naked Body Butter Maximum Moisture Cream.

My skin was glowing and moist for the rest of the day. I took a tube of the Body Butter home with me, along with Patricia’s recommended Bliss The Youth as we Know It Anti-Aging Moisture Cream.

In a previous article, One Reader’s Anti-Aging Dilemma, I had already given a thumbs-up review to the Anti-Aging Cream based solely on the ingredients.

Now I’ll be able to review two Bliss products based on my own experience. Talk about a busman’s holiday ;-)
