St. Thomas
Today, I was literally wrapped in luxury at the ship’s spa.
I had the Bliss FatGirlSlim body wrap and massage. I’d never had a wrap treatment before and had visions of gunk smeared all over my body, followed by a messy removal process.
It wasn’t at all like that. Try to imagine this from the spa’s brochure …
A savior before slipping into anything curve hugging, this detoxifying, circulation-stimulating, body-toning treatment includes dry brushing, application of firming grapefruit essential oil, a trouble-spot-targeting seaweed task mask, a heated wrap, and a rubdown. It was 75 minutes of pure pampering and treatment aimed at improving the tone and texture of skin and reducing the appearance of cellulite and sagging.
I especially enjoyed the very light but invigorating brushing of my feet and hands. “Always brush toward the heart to improve the circulation”, Patricia said. She noted I have poor circulation in my extremities.
The poor peripheral circulation is caused by Raynaud’s disease. It’s mostly just an annoyance since we live in a warm climate now. But when exposed to cold weather, my fingertips and toes go completely numb and turn purple. After getting out of the cold, the blood and color return but my digits are sore and swollen for a day or two.
I get to take the natural body brush home with me and I will definitely be using it on my hands and feet as frequently as possible.
Please come back tomorrow to hear about my Bliss FatGirlSlim Body Wrap.
