Finding Comfort in the Skin You're In

Dry Sensitive SkinI am allergic to about everything that is on the market. I can use Clinique Moisturizer and Vaseline. What do you recommend for me?

When I say allergic to everything, that includes burning, blisters, peeling. I can't stand the pain of the burning so I take it off immediately. What is there left for me?

Hi Joy,

Oh my, that sounds just miserable! Have you had a medical diagnosis of Eczema or Psoriasis, for example?

Or are you just allergic to virtually everything under the sun?

What does your dermatologist say? And please don’t tell me you haven’t consulted one. You really need to start your search with a medical understanding of why your skin is so reactive.

I’m not a doctor and my suggestions should not be taken as medical advice.

Keep using the products you found that work for you. When your skin is calm and not irritated, you may be able to use one of the Anti-Aging Products to Try for Extremely Sensitive Skin in this list I put together for another reader.

Some of the tips in this article of Other Anti-Aging Skin Care Suggestions for Eczema Sufferers may also be suitable for you.

Best of luck in finding some comfort in the skin you’re in.

Jean
