After all the media hype and bad press over Resveratrol supplement auto-ship scams, science marched on.
Here’s the latest from the lab on Resveratrol, the ingredient concentrated in red wine that some researchers see as a drug that may extend life.
Resveratrol Stimulation of Adiponectin May Fight Obesity, Diabetes and Aging
A diet high in resveratrol-rich grapes appears to stimulate the expression of adiponectin, a hormone derived from cells that manufacture and store fat.
Adiponectin regulates the metabolism of lipids and glucose. It influences the body's response to insulin and has anti-inflammatory effects on blood vessel wall linings.
High blood levels of adiponectin are associated with reduced risk of heart attack. Low levels of adiponectin are found in people who are obese and who are at increased risk of a heart attack.
Researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio reported their research in the January 7 issue of the Journal of Biological Chemistry.
We reported on previous Resveratrol Research in a lengthy series of articles last year.
If you’re interested in Resveratrol supplementation, be sure to buy from reputable companies. Here are two I can recommend:
Life Extension Optimized Resveratrol and
Integrative Therapeutics Resveratrol Ultra
