My Word for 2011: CALM

Word of the YearI read about singer/songwriter Christine Kane’s blog and her free discovery tool worksheet titled “Your Word of the Year” at LifeLife Muses by Ro. I was quite intrigued by what Ro had accomplished with the worksheet so I clicked on over to download my own copy.

Christine’s philosophy is that you are the artist and your life is your work of art. I like that. Her blog is an interesting read to anyone who wants to improve their life. Okay, who doesn’t want that?!

We might feel happy and completely satisfied at times, but there’s still that human craving to be a little better or do a little more. And then there are the other times … where just about everything seems NOT to be going our way.

In hindsight, I realize that 2010 was the latter kind of year for me – just filled with challenges and stressful events. We were faced with some serious family illnesses (both my hubby and his mom) . One of our dogs contracted encephalitis and nearly died. Another almost died from rat poison thrown into our yard.

We had construction going on the entire year. Of course that’s always disruptive. It also entailed lots of hassles with some of the tradesmen. About mid-year, our business income took a nosedive and we feared we might lose it.

Whew – just thinking about 2010 exhausts me. Is it any wonder that my word for 2011 is “Calm”? I’ll share some of the things on my agenda tomorrow.

In the meantime, Download Your Word of the Year Discovery Tool here. Then come back and let’s share.
