Some of us age better than others, and that's just the way it is. Your skin may be thirty, but it looks fifty, or the other way around. Genetics has a lot to do with the aging process, especially when it comes to our skin, but many people aren't leaving heredity to chance. The best thing you can do for your skin, when you're young, is to remember that it will get old, someday. Doing something about it sooner rather than later can take five, ten or even more years off the way you look when you hit those higher numbers.
Many people look for antiaging skin care treatment options when they first see signs of wrinkles or lines around their eyes. Others wait, believing that those laugh lines are a sign of character and joyful living. Still others could care less. However, for those who want to keep their youthful looks as long as humanly possible, resorting to skin care products is the direction most women take. Plastic surgery is not an option for many people, between the expense and the healing time, and besides, it's not like you want to look twenty forever, you just want to slow the passage of time enough to prevent people from asking for your AARP card before you're ready to relinquish it.
Cleopatra is known for her beauty, and she lived in the desert! Reportedly, she bathed in mild lactic acid in an effort to keep her complexion clean and smooth. Did it work? Who knows? Today, we may not have to bathe in weird concoctions, but we do like to have them in our moisturizers, creams and toners, don't we? Everything from goat's milk to tree sap and cactus juice is found in many products that claim to have antiaging properties in their ingredients. Do they work? That depends on who's using them.
However, some things are proven to work better than others when it comes to replenishing the skin and plumping out wrinkles and lines. Remember that there is no cure for aging, and wrinkles and lines don't miraculously disappear, unless you have plastic surgery - but if you don't want to walk around looking like a mannequin, creams and moisturizers are your best bet. Always choose products that have Vitamin A or retinoid ingredients when it comes to an "anti-aging" product, as these work best at rehydrating skin cells and rejuvenating new cell growth.
Using such creams and lotions for as long as six months may be required before you start to notice a big difference. Still, knowing that you're doing something seems to provide not only physical benefits, but emotional ones as well. If you're not ready to raise the white flag against aging just yet, do a little research on anti-aging creams and lotions. Don't believe everything you read and pay attention to labels and ingredients. Don't waste your money on a glorified lotion. Make sure that you're getting what you're paying for. Keep it simple: Vitamin A and retin ingredients are the best bet when it comes to fading those wrinkles and lines.
